Ever since I was old enough to read, I’ve had a fascination with and love of road signs. They are the metadata of the physical world – and they can not only tell you where to go, but where you’ve been.
I looked at my collection of photos I’ve taken of the years, and noticed that several hundred of them feature signs as the main subject (at least that’s what the AI algorythm tells me.) Here is a very curated selection of some of the road signs I’ve taken pictures of over the years.
Looking at them makes me feel very stuck now that I’m living in New York without a car.
