I always loved how she was discovered by Robert Altman by accident – when he was filming the movie Brewster McCloud in Houston in 1970. Apparently her personality and unusual looks caused her to be somewhat of a muse to the production crew, and they incorporated her into the movie, never having been an actress before that moment.

She passed away today. No more “Hello, I’m Shelley Duvalls” to be heard anymore.
